Kazuyo Sigler, I was born and raised in Japan. As a youth I learned ballet and between the ages of 5 and 12 competed nationally in gymnastics. As an adult I have lived and worked in Japan, the United States, and Australia with my husband and two children. After my second child, I began to experience a painful, stiff neck and the build-up of stress from my work and taking care of my children, so I began to look for a way to exercise that was not too hard but good for my body and mind. My search led me to a Pilates video and I began to exercise on my own. But after a time, I realized that I needed instruction to correct my body movements. Ten years later, I am now a certified mat instructor of Pilates at Harmony, and have been teaching mat class in Japanese every Friday at Harmony's Aina Haina Studio since June 2004.
